Every war is a clear, screaming declaration that people failed to function as competent, responsible human beings. There is no longer (and perhaps never was) an excuse to engage in protracted conflicts lasting years and years. The only victors are the corporations that manufacture weapons or benefit from the spoils. The US congress has failed the American people. Now, we must join together to demand that the US not only desist in Afghanistan, but also to pull back from the hundreds of bases spread across the globe.
