My work contacts with Padre Camilo Torres and work with the poor in Bogota in 1964 planted the seeds. My work with displaced persons during the war in Vietnam in the late 1960s reinforced the view that the exploitation of the poor in the Capitalist system requires structural change. The system is on the verge of collapse. October 6 may be the beginning of real effort to achieve the social justice goals of a socialist state. I have informed my students and will join the beginning of this change.
