Note from the October2011 organizers: Below are listed independent media outlets and blogs that will be covering october2011.org. However, everyone attending should consider themselves a reporter and media outlet. People should bring cameras, flip cams, cell phones and video cameras and report on the event through film and in writing.
See The People Are the Media. In this era when the corporate media has very little credibility, what you report to your social networks via email, blogs, Facebook, twitter and other outlets will have much more credibility than the corporate media. By letting the media know that there will be thousands of people reporting to hundreds of thousands of people about what is occurring, it will be less likely that they will mislead the public about the event. In addition, we want the government, especially the police, to know that thousands of people will be reporting their action to the world.
