Song: "Stand With Me"
This is a song that we can sing together in Washington, DC. It would be important to learn it because it could be used to calm the crowd during resistance actions.
In Greece, when the police started pushing back, the people were able to get them to calm down and go back into the Parliament by repeating that they were nonviolent. We want the police and everyone to know that we are all affected by what is happening in this country and that we can stand together to make the world a better place.
- lyrics
- Chorus:
I will stand with you – Will you stand with me
We will be the change that we hope to see
In the name of love – in the name of peace
Will you stand, will you stand with me
When injustice raises up its fist
And fights to stop us in our tracks
We will rise and as one resist
No fear nor sorrow can turn us back
Chorus
When pain and hatred churn up angry noise
And try to shout down our freedom song
We will rise in one joyful voice
Loud and clear and ever strong
Chorus
When broken hearts come knocking on our door
Lost and hungry and so alone
We will reach as we have reached before
For there is no stranger in this our home
Chorus
In the name of love – in the name of peace
Will you stand, will you stand with me - credits

Hey, look at all the spammers commenting, advertising their businesses. Ha, ha, I guess that means we've really arrived!
Hey Lisa, noted. But it's ok. Children learn by trying on different hats to impress the adults around them. Eventually they find one that works for them and become the hat they wear.
We will know when the spammers have learned something; when,

Actually show up at October2001 and risk arrest, or make substantial donations and join the effort, or march with the occupations or put decals and signs in their windows and on their letterheads supporting the movement. That will tell us which of them actually support a lateralized economy, justice for the poor, living wages, human rights and other things this movement is made of. Till then, we should only remind them it is impolite to put your business name on your comments, or try to sell products or make profits on the backs of people putting themselves at risk for the benefit of all. (besides, it it is unlikely to help your business.) Children, are you listening?
Even though you can find songs which are meaningless, you can find songs which have been composed throughout the years that convey an in-depth meaning, intended to move us to action in some way. This song is one of them. Great song. Angry Birds Costume Ideas

State of the Union (in poesy)
I bumped my head on this low hanging ceiling,
looked around at the jackals nipping at my heels
like they hadn't had a meal and were closing for the kill;
But I knew they'd eaten plenty the last time at this table.
They had their feast of fat and muscle (blood and bone as well);
they gorged themselves at our expense, looted the pantry,
turned on the spigots of war, bathed in the rivers
of dollars and cents until it came time to pay the bill.
Now they yell and scream about the debt and the lean,
while dismembering whatever is left of the carcass,
declaring they weren't involved in this fable,
recall nothing of how it all started.
Though Justice be blind and the poor so much prey,
the rest of us bought off, or scared off, or tired,
The State of the Union demands end to this game;
hunt jackal, dear people, till all have expired.
As an indigenous woman, who has long been in the fight against capitalist exploitation, against Yankee imperialism...these songs I have included as a link is pretty much how I feel today, even in the midst of building unity. We, indigenous, whether we are reservations or mestizo like me, disenfranchised like me and my biological relatives...we feel marginalized and left out, uncounted and unrepresented...we should be use to it, but oppression does not settle as a natural condition. Even in struggle we are faced with the age old story from 500 years of domination and exploitation to today as we see others unify and rally, and we encourage unifying and solidarity against the powerful capitalist state...but the scope of many who seek a better world seems narrow. Oh, how I wish you would even attempt to walk a week, a day in our shoes. When I think about fighting against oppression and the US imperialist beast...I consider you, think about you and wish you free of harm, free to be have your basic needs met. These are not just words, but a way to live, to think, to be. But resistance is imperative to break the chains...we must be all inclusive ...you consider the police, and pay tribute to the agents of the state as a part of your struggle, more than I have seen in regard to Indigenous peoples and struggles...maybe it is time you speak of Indigenous Nations and respecting our sovereignty and our right to fight for our lands, free from the exploits of capitalist and imperialism. We do not have to be your neighbor for us to be given equal time...after all the land you live on is Indigenous...we never gave it up...like Palestinians never gave up theirs to the Zionist US state...this you must recognize if you truly want to be all inclusive...A new society cannot be built until this is acknowledged, by including and involving and reaching out as you do when you speak for the agents of the state, like the police. We are in a battle to our death, this must be understood.
When I stand with you…will you, have you stood with us. I say this with all due respect and regard to human rights for all peoples and for true liberation from the chains that bind us. But it must be understood, who and what the enemy is.
When I come to DC, when we have our general assembly meetings, even if I am the lone Native/Indigenous person I will press for treaties honored, Sovereignty respected full unimpeded and our Nations and Bands right to self-determination free from the yoke of imperialism. and capitalist interest. This includes a complete halt to oil, mining extraction and for water rights for peoples needs not corporations and energy conglomerates. This too should be the rallying cry for all who believe in human rights.
Redemption is definitely in order.

Redemption Song | Playing for Change
It is my greatest desire that true unity is forged. That these occupations lend to creating a new world free from the system that kills, commits heinous crimes by the US military and prison industrial complexes and the US state department, and all the US agencies, like the interior department, Bureau of Land Management and its various police agencies.
Oppressed people will assert their voices and their songs too...and we all must rally in the name of peace, Justice and redemption.
Onward to standing together, and not just in song.
Dear Hacha,
Thank you so much for your meaningful words and for reminding us of the history of deceit and repression that underlies these marble edifices that surround us in DC. Nancy and I have sage from Wounded Knee in our truck and we listened to Buddy Red Bow's haunting and beautiful songs as we traveled west this summer. You are right "we must all rally in the name of peace, Justice and redemption."
Peace,
Art
Thank you, Hacha. You will not be the lone Native/Indigenous person at the Occupation. There will be many others. You are right that we must include the struggles of your people. The human rights abuses you catalogue here are part of the fight.
Great song. Let's all try to learn it before October 6th so we can automatically sing it whenever need be. Music has always been such an important part of protest movements.
Yes, only a few days left. Let us sing this song together. Burn the spirit up!

Thanks for sharing this information. I really like your way of expressing the opinions and sharing the information. It is good to move as chance bring new things in life, paves the way for advancement, etc. But it is well known to everyone that moving to new location with bulk of goods is not an easy task to move or shift from one place to other place because I have experienced about that and I face the problem like that. There I go to village near to my city faced that problem there.

I love this song and have been humming it all days. My coworkers have asked what I've been humming and I've shown them on youtube. Some get it, some care, some don't. To be expected boys batman costume from a random population sampling, which is my coworkers for sure
I love the song, and everything it symbolizes. And yes, while it is the day in age that everyone will do everything they can to get ahead in the world, posting a link to a business site does not in and of itself negate the validity of these posts in favor of the unity of this great nation!
And now mine. Cheers!
