Ralph Nader Announces New campaign to highlight negative effects of corporate campaign contributions on our democracy

(Washington, D.C.) – Ralph Nader unveiled a new campaign today called Suits for Sale highlighting the negative impact of unlimited corporate spending in political elections, as allowed by the Supreme Court ruling Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission.
Suits for Sales highlight “the best congressional suits money can buy,” Nader said, referring to the campaign funding that comes from various corporations.
Nader developed a poster featuring Speaker of the House John Boehner’s image and a suit plastered in corporate sponsorship. The corporate patches showcase the major corporations that have contributed to his coffers.
“Speaker John Boehner,” said Nader, “is a corporation who has been masquerading as a human being.”
Boehner is sponsored by Exxon Mobil and Sallie Mae, the rip-off company on student loans, he said. “Boehner was single-handedly blocking reform on student loans.”
Nader mentioned that if NASCAR drivers wear their sponsors on their sleeves, then so should the members of Congress who are similarly sponsored.
Through the website suitsforsale.org there are posters of a corporate-sponsored John Boehner available for purchase for $15. Proceeds go to the drive to fund effects to curb the dominance of big money in politics.
