The Federal Protective Service has informed the EPA that Occupy DC protesters are expected near EPA Federal Triangle facilities tomorrow, November 10, any time from approximately 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
As a precautionary measure, FPS will have an increased presence in the Federal Triangle area. You will see additional EPA guards, as well as Security Management Division personnel outside wearing orange vests. The following measures will be in place:
- All day Thursday, EPA guards will chck badges outside the entrance rather than inside. Please have your badge ready so guards can easily check your photo.
- If you are expecting visitors, please alert the Security Management Division by sending an email to OARM-OA-SMD-OB@epa.gov. Visitors will be initially checked outside.
- Automatic entrance buttons will ve disabled between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Personnel will be available to assist with the doors.
Additional security alers will be sent as needed. If you have questions, please send an email to OARM-OA-SMD-OB@epa.gov.
We want to thank EPA Security for alerting all of the EPA to our protest. One of our goals was to make sure employees of the EPA knew we were protesting the Agency and you did the job for us!

In early October as Lynn and I walked from The White House back to Freedom Plaza, carrying STOP THE PIPELINE signs, a thirty-something in a suit gave us the thumbs up sign. He said he worked for the EPA... and fully supported stopping the Tar Sands Pipeline. We engaged in conversation and he told us the EPA was not even involved in the process... it (the EPA) had been circumvented... and they were pissed.
Join Occupy EPA/the No FEAR Coalition on Wednesday November 16th (Freedom Plaza, Washington, DC) in support of victims of mountain top removal. Thanks to the Occupy Washington, DC community for their support of victims of EPA abuse and betrayal. We demand that President Obama and EPA administrator Lisa Jackson reverse their pro-corporate decision on clean air/smog control. Thousands of people depend on us.
