Arrests Mark One Year Anniversary Weekend in NYC

Dozens of people were arrested in a weekend of rallies ahead of the anniversary of Occupy Wall Street, as authorities prepared for potentially disruptive protests in the Financial District on Monday.

By early evening Sunday 42 people had been arrested, 15 of them on Sunday, for offenses ranging from disorderly conduct to assault, said Paul Browne, chief spokesman for the New York Police Department. Mr. Browne said many of those arrested at Occupy-related protests across the city were from outside of New York.
