OWS Protesters Arrested on BKLYN Bridge. Are You The Revolution?

At least 500 demonstrators from the Occupy Wall Street protests were arrested on the Brooklyn Bridge yesterday, in a clear case of Police entrapment. After allowing, and in some cases, steering protesters onto the Brooklyn Bridge roadway, the police penned hundred in and arrested them.

Open Letter to College Students: #OccupyDC on #Oct6

Recently, I was invited to speak to a group of students at Harvard University.

From what I could tell, at least 20 students at that meeting are coming to Freedom Plaza in Washington DC, for what I told them would be a once in a generation protest- where thousands and thousands occupy DC and maintain a presence their for weeks, perhaps longer in a effort to force our leaders to bring the troops and the money home and redirect those resources towards human and environmental needs.

Replicate this! Obama’s Promise Taken to the Bank (literally)

In October of 2007, Barack Obama said this: "I will promise you this, that if we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do. I will get our troops home. We will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank. " (Emphasis mine)

Recently, I traveled to several banks trying to do just that.

Literally:

The U.S.A. –Still The Best System There Is?

Well, I'll admit that the tone here is not very Gandhi of me, not very MLK of me, not the tone of many - like me- who seek to ignite a non-violent radical transformation in this country, but like Shakespeare said, "to thine own self be true."

The Punk Patriot: The Whole F**king Thing Is Coming Down

The Punk Punk Patriot, who will be in DC on October 6th, has written a song for The October 2011 Coalition.

LYRICS:

Hedge funds, derivatives, tea pot dome
wall street gambling, using your home
congress isn't gonna do a single fucking thing
because their campaign contributions all come attached to strings
The Democratic Party is a failing institution
what we need now is a real revolution

The United States is a global empire

Pledge

"I would like to join the online community of October2011/OccupyWashingtonDC so that I will receive email updates and be part of the movement to nonviolently resist a corporate-driven war-and-Wall-Street government that exploits people and the planet for the 1%. ."
